Music Class

So i've been looking at people around me. And i've noticed how music is treated more as a scene than an art. I'm not talking about everyone. I'm just saying it about some people i know.

Its like this, i see that music is more to something you do nowadays.
example:

• Kids who enjoy hiphop/rnb/rap : do the clubbing thing.
• Kids who enjoy screamo/emo/pop-punk : do the music gig thing
• Kids who enjoy rock'n'roll/grunge/punk: do the street thing

WARNING: Those are examples don't take them seriously

So yeah since when did music became something you wear, instead of something you hear?

Maybe it's how kids these days find people who have things in common with them. But having one same thing in common does not make somebody your friend.
And besides acting like you understand a sense in a genre of music. Does not make you any smarter. Knowing a band's whole history. Doesn't make you a music connoisseur. It makes you a fan, not an expert.
Stop the scene! Be yourself!
